5 QUALITY – RISK OBJECTIVES

1. Develop a clinical leadership

2. Steer and develop the ambitious QSE culture

3. Secure and constantly improve our practices

4. Continually improve the patient's "experience" throughout his journey

5. Participate in pro-active external labelling schemes and manage risk-improvement plans in the operations and supports sectors.

Implementation of the Quality approach

The steering and coordination of the Quality – Risk Management at the Fondation Hopale is organised around four structures (decision-making, strategic, steering and operational):

  • The Management Board, the decision-making structure, validates the quality policy and project.
  • The Medical-Administrative Committee, the strategic structure, defines the quality approach and policy.
  • The Central Steering Committee, the steering structure, coordinates and steers the quality, safety and risk coordination project.
  • The Quality – Risk Department, the operational structure, leads, implements and deploys on the sites.

Our certification process

Since 2000, the Fondation Hopale has been involved in an external evaluation procedure for healthcare establishments.

This procedure is independent from the establishment and implemented by the Haute Autorité en Santé (HAS, The French National Authority for Health). It is performed every 4 years.

Its aim is to independently assess:

  • the level of services and care delivered to patients
  • the drive towards improving care quality and safety

The results of this joint approach are very positive. We are certified with recommendations (B rating), which places us among the 38% of French establishments in this category.

This drive towards improvement, initiated from the beginning of the initiatives, brings us today to the threshold of the V2014 certification, which will see the users' opinion amongst others playing a predominant role in the ranking.

Furthermore, the Fondation Hopale is part of an external labelling scheme for one area of its business. It is involved in the COFRAC certification scheme for medical analysis laboratories and health laboratories.

Self-assessment and improvement

All of the medical, healthcare and administrative teams are involved alongside the Management and the Conférence Médicale d'Etablissement (CME) in an assessment and improvement initiative.

Prevention

A prevention and hospital risk management policy has been deployed, the aim of which is to compile a register identifying all the risks to which the establishment's patients, visitors, staff and property may potentially be exposed.

Our procedures have been mapped out and the risks identified at each stage. Corrective and/or preventive actions have therefore been implemented to improve our practices and prevent incidents.
